First National Resource for Young Cancer Survivors in France

16/02/2026

For the first time, dedicated information for adolescents and young adults cured of cancer has been published on Ameli, the official public health insurance website of the French national system (CPAM)

Young people who have survived cancer in France can now find dedicated guidance on Ameli, the country’s official public health insurance website. The resource explains the importance of lifelong follow-up care and was developed through collaboration between clinicians, survivor representatives, institutions, and policymakers.

The information builds on insights from the e-QuoL project, which concluded that transparent access to information about long-term risks is not optional—it is an ethical imperative. By sharing these insights, the resource helps survivors make informed decisions about their health. The underlying findings are described in a recent article accepted for Bulletin du Cancer.

This initiative shows how EU-supported research can have a direct impact at the national level, reducing inequalities in long-term care and providing practical tools for survivors and their families.
