Saint-Etienne University Hospital is a French public healthcare institution responsible for providing care, training and research. Saint-Étienne University Hospital is committed to meeting the healthcare needs of all, with humanity, in all circumstances and in a sustainable manner, by providing care in line with the latest scientific findings, and by being involved in innovation and clinical research.
The values of Saint-Etienne University Hospital:
- Humanity
- Solidarity
- Responsibility
- Commitment
Saint-Etienne University Hospital is particularly proud to contribute to the e-QuoL project by leading Task 1 entitled “Translations and adaptations of French videos” in WP3 (PROTOTYPE DESIGN: ADAPTATIONS AND INNOVATIONS). Indeed, Dr Claire Berger’s team has recently designed and produced videos in French aimed at improving the education of young adult patients regarding long-term follow-up after childhood cancer via their inclusion in a MOOC. Our involvement in e-QuoL will therefore aim to offer a translation and/or adaptation of these videos to each of the countries participating in the project and interested in them.

Claire Berger
Claire is a paediatric haemato-oncologist at the CHU Saint-Etienne, France, with an MD-PHD and is authorised to conduct research.
She is a member of the ethics committee and was national coordinator of the long-term follow-up committee of the French Society for Childhood Cancer (SFCE) from 2012 to 2019. She is also a board member of the PanCare multidisciplinary pan-European network. To better understand the late effects of childhood cancer, she is leading several research programmes. One of these is the MOOC study, which aims to improve the knowledge of more than 5,000 French adolescent and young adult childhood cancer survivors in order to improve their health and well-being, in particular by helping them to organise their own follow-up care in collaboration with their general practitioner.
