e-QuoL at the 32nd PanCare Meeting: Driving Innovation and Community in Cancer Survivorship

28/09/2026

Dr. Jelena Roganovic shares highlights from the 32nd PanCare Meeting in Basel, where e-QuoL contributed to workshops, survivor stories, and regional updates.

From 23 to 25 September, the 32nd PanCare Meeting was held in Basel, bringing together survivors, parents, healthcare professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders from across Europe who are committed to advancing survivorship care.

This year’s meeting featured a diverse programme focused on survivorship care. e-QuoL was actively represented throughout the meeting, contributing to several sessions and sharing experiences and findings from its ongoing work.

Interactive Workshops & Survivor Voices

As part of the Educational Workshops, Laura Bathilde and Dr Charlotte Demoor-Goldschmidt led an engaging session on body image, which sparked thought-provoking discussion among participants. The session highlighted the importance of addressing body image as an integral part of holistic survivorship care and created space for sharing personal and professional perspectives.

During the “Survivor’s Voice” session, Dr Charlotte Demoor-Goldschmidt presented experiences from the project’s “Healing in Two Voices” initiative, highlighting the value of survivors’ narratives as a survivorship intervention themselves and a learning opportunity for healthcare professionals.

Research Results & Regional Impact

Valeriia Balaeva delivered an oral presentation on the results of the cross-sectional e-QuoL Needs Study among survivors’ support network members, sharing important insights into their experiences and needs. I had the opportunity to present e-QuoL’s dissemination activities across Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, highlighting the project’s growing regional engagement.

Strengthening Community

Special thanks go to the local organisers, Dr Katrin Scheinemann and Dr Maria Otth, for their warm hospitality and excellent organisation of the meeting. Beyond the scientific programme, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to connect and share experiences in the welcoming and multicultural setting of Basel. The exchange of perspectives, strengthening of friendships, and creation of new connections across borders made the meeting a truly inspiring experience. We returned home inspired, motivated, and grateful for the strong sense of community that makes the PanCare network and e-QuoL project so special.
