Strengthening Alliances in Genova: e-QuoL’s Highlights from ISLCCC 2026

09/06/2026

A comprehensive chronicle by Jelena Roganovic on how e-QuoL presented its latest findings and strengthened global partnerships during the three-day symposium

Bringing together experts from four continents, the 5th International Symposium on Late Complications after Childhood Cancer (ISLCCC 2026) was the perfect platform for e-QuoL to share its progress. Our team returned from Italy inspired, with valuable feedback, new collaborations, and renewed energy for the next phases of the project.

The meeting, held in Genova, Italy, from June 4-6 and organized by Riccardo Haupt, Monica Muraca, and Carlo Dufour, featured invited lectures, panel discussions, oral presentations, and poster sessions dedicated to improving the long-term outcomes of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors.

Driving Innovation in Survivorship Care

The e-QuoL consortium was pleased to contribute to the scientific programme by presenting several ongoing activities and early project findings:

  • Anne Maas delivered the oral presentation “Information and Support Needs of Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Survivors (CAYACS) Across Europe: Results from e-Quol”.
  • Four scientific posters highlighted progress across several of the project’s work packages.

Networking and Next Steps

In addition to the scientific sessions, participants enjoyed a rich social programme that fostered informal interactions and new collaborations. Highlights included the Dan Green Fun Run and the social dinner at the Acquario di Genova, offering a unique opportunity to network in one of the city’s most iconic venues.
The symposium provided an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange. The e-Quol team returns with strengthened partnerships that will vitalize the next phases of our work.
We thank the ISLCCC organizers and participants for a successful and memorable meeting and we already look forward to the 6th International Symposium on Late Complications after Childhood Cancer (ISLCCC 2027) in Sydney, Australia.
